Mission. Collectively train undergraduates, graduate students, post-baccalaureate students, and postdoctoral fellows in research design; data collection, analysis, and presentation; and academic norms. Be a source of social and socioemotional support. Expand and diversify social networks.
Values. While our strengths are in sociological theory, quantitative methods, and education research, we are inclusive of multiple disciplines, methods, and research topics. We believe that everyone has the potential to learn difficult ideas and methods. Our critical feedback is how we show that we are engaged and invested in progressing your learning and work.
Vision. Career Analyst graduates pursue their dreams with an expanded knowledge of potential futures that involve data and research skills; with heightened confidence, resiliency, and perseverance; and the comfort that they will always be a Career Analyst.
Founded in 2017 through a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation (1652279), The Career Analysts are facilitated by Dr. Dara Shifrer.
