I am an Associate Professor of Geology at Portland State University. I do research and teach within Earth Science on Paleoclimate, Stable Isotope Geochemistry, Stratigraphy, and Basin Analysis.
I have published on the uplift history of the Altiplano, Pamir, Tibetan Plateau, and the Cascades. I gave a recent talk on the latter which can be viewed here. In addition, I am interested in atmospheric circulation and isotope evolution in central Asia and the Pacific Northwest. Recently, I completed a Department of Energy project investigating geothermal potential in the Portland Metro area. Lastly, I have a pilot project on cannabis terroir in southern Oregon. If you are a prospective graduate student interested in any of these areas of research, please get in touch.
