Digital Teaching & Research Portfolio

Welcome!

I am a PhD Candidate and junior academic interested in governmentality and nonprofits active in disasters. As an educator, my teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that education is not simply about conveying information, but about empowering students to think critically and develop a deep understanding of the world around them. I am an open-minded, critical theorist who believes that we learn differently and that we all come from different backgrounds and perspectives. In my classroom, I aim to create an environment that fosters open dialogue, encourages students to challenge their assumptions, and engages them with different perspectives. My goal is to facilitate, not hinder, learning, and I believe that learning is a process that should be tailored to individual needs and preferences. On this website, you can find more information about my academic background, research interests, and teaching philosophy.

As I researcher, I investigate disaster events from a critical perspective. My goal is to understand the realities faced on the ground through qualitative interviewing, document analysis, and supporting quantitative data. I hope to uncover and understand the power relations that ebb and flow in disaster events, aiming to create more equitable outcomes in the future.
