My name is Jennifer Muthanna and I am a PhD candidate in Social Work and Social Research at Portland State University. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of British Columbia (1997), an Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor (2001), and a Master of Social Work, Advanced Clinical Practice degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland (2004).

My professional practice and research interests are in post-adoption services, critical adoption studies, social work education, and feminist social work.

I have a personal connection to adoption. I was adopted as an infant into a multiracial family. My adoptive family includes two brothers who are my parents' birth children and a sister who was adopted internationally. I have reunited with both my birth father and my birth mother.
