SHSM is a ministry-approved specialized program that allows grade 11 and 12 students to focus their learning on a specific sector, while meeting the requirements to graduate from secondary school. It also assists in their transition after graduation to apprenticeship training, college, university or the workplace.

At David Suzuki we proudly offer to outstanding SHSM programs:

• Sports - Reaching Individuals Through Sports Education (R.I.S.E) program

• Hospitality and Tourism - Collaborative Hospitality Education Food Science (C.H.E.F.S) program

Upon Completion of all course requirements, students will earn a Red Seal on their diploma. This seal of distinction is recognized by post secondary institutions during the application process. In some cases, post secondary institutions are offering a one time scholarship of $500-$1000 for students in SHSM programs who pursue post secondary in that specific sector.
