AQ Subsidies for Peel Educators

Fall 2026 Subsidies:

This site is monitored and updated regularly to reflect the most current information about AQ Course subsidies that are available.

Please note that subsidies are reimbursed 4-6 weeks after the successful completion of an Additional Qualifications course.

Subsidies are provided through the various departments. One subsidized course per session is allowable. If you have any specific questions about the subsidy, please contact the department directly, or send your questions to us at LearnForward@peelsb.com and we will re-direct your inquiry.

NTIP/Side by Side - Year 1-5 PDSB Teachers

Learn Forward Peel courses

Eligibility: OCT accreditation, Peel teacher

Subsidy reimbursed by: Curriculum and School Improvement (NTIP Department)

AQ funding is available for a limited number of teachers upon a first come - first serve basis, based on eligibility (i.e., currently in their first five years as an OT, LTO, permanent teacher) for AQ courses taken through PDSB LearnForward only. As such, the subsidy is not guaranteed to be available for the full year.

The NTIP subsidy for the Fall session is applicable to the following courses:

Reading Part 1: Primary/Junior

Reading Part 1: Teaching Black Literatures with Adolescent Learners

Mathematics: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3

Mathematics 7/8

Teaching English Language Learners: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3

Applicants are invited to apply for these Fall courses to receive a subsidy in the 2026-2027 school year.

To receive the $300 NTIP subsidy, eligible teachers must complete a pre-approval form before enrolling in a PDSB–Learn Forward AQ course. The subsidy is provided upon successful completion of the course.

Teachers are required to enroll in the AQ Course through LearnForwardPeel and pay the course fee in full. Once teachers have successfully completed the course, an additional form will be sent to the participant to complete in order to receive the subsidy funding. All Terms & Conditions will apply. (ie. anyone who does not complete the course will be subject to the Terms & Conditions of LearnForwardPeel and will not receive any subsidy).

First Nations, Métis and Inuit Studies Learn Forward Courses

Learn Forward Peel courses

Eligibility: OCT accreditation, Peel teacher

Subsidy reimbursed by: Equity, Indigenous Education and Community Engagement

First Nations, Métis and Inuit Studies, Part 1: amount $300.00

First Nations, Métis and Inuit Studies, Part 2: amount $300.00

A subsidy of $600.00 will be available only to teachers who are currently teaching Contemporary First Nations, Métis and Inuit Voices (NBE3). Access to the subsidy must be approved by the Indigenous Education Team upon receipt and review of the teacher's current timetable. To apply for the $600.00 subsidy, please submit your timetable to indigenousteam@peelsb.com.

PDSB teachers are required to enroll for the AQ Course through LearnForwardPeel and pay the course fee in full. Subsidy will be credited upon successful completion of the course

Teacher Leadership, Part 1 : Focus on Mentor Coaching*

Amount = $300.00

A limited number of subsidies will be available in 2026-2027.

PDSB teachers are required to enroll for the AQ Course through LearnForwardPeel and pay the course fee in full. Subsidy will be credited upon successful completion of the course

All French as a Second Language AQs - PDSB Teachers

Amount = $600.00

A limited number of subsidies will be available in 2026-2027.

Special Education, Part 1

Learn Forward Peel courses

Eligibility: OCT accreditation, Peel teacher

Subsidy reimbursed by: Leadership, Partnerships, Pathways and International Programs

Amount = $100.00

A limited number of subsidies will be available in 2026-2027 for PDSB teachers who are actively teaching students in a PDSB school for the duration of the AQ course. Teachers must hold a contract or permanent position of at least three months that overlaps with the course dates.

To receive the $100 subsidy, eligible teachers must complete a pre-approval form before enrolling in a PDSB–Learn Forward AQ course. The subsidy is provided upon successful completion of the course.

PETL - Peel Elementary Teachers Local

AQ subsidies are available to Elementary Teachers in PDSB through your local union through STPDL funding our PETL Course Funding.

NEW this year, Eligible members can apply to STPDL Funding for funding for an AQ/ABQ.

PETL Course Funding - PETL Course Funding is available for members of PETL who have not already accessed PETL Conference Funding, and will fund up to $600 toward course tuition fees (as outlined in the full guidelines linked)

OSSTF D19

OSSTF D19 members can access STPDL funds for AQ courses (with the exception of PQPs). Go to the members' site for more details.
