The applications will be made available on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025. Applications will be accepted until Friday, September 12th at 3:00pm. All forms submitted by this time will be given first consideration. The delegates will then be selected at random from those who have submitted their forms and they will be informed of their acceptance to the program early the following week
In order to secure one’s spot the payment MUST be received by Monday, September 22nd at 3pm. Failure to do so will result in the place no longer being reserved and will be given to the next person on the list.
Application forms can be found on the bulletin board beside room 213. If they are out, please let Ms. Miller know.
The cost of Bramarama this year is $150. The fee must be paid on School Cash Online (click here) by September 22nd at 3pm. Links will be open for payment once delegates have been selected, please check School Cash Online. If you need to pay with cash, please speak to Ms. Nelson in the office. If payment is not made on time, students will lose their spot and it will automatically go to the next person on the waitlist.
If this fee is a barrier to your attendance, please speak with Ms. Miller, Ms. Colton in the guidance office or another trusted staff member before or when you submit your application. We want you to come!
At Bramarama you will be placed into a small skillbuilding group. With this group you will take part in learning various skills such as: teambuilding, leadership, communication, self-awareness, risk and trust and more. Also you will take part in team challenges (high ropes, low ropes, etc.) and large group activities (talent show, campfire etc.).
Check our the recap videos and our Instagram page for photos and videos.
Bramarama takes place at Camp Medeba (1270 Kennisis Lake Rd, West Guilford ) which is about 3 hours north of Brampton. This is a top notch camp facility with sleep cabins featuring gas fireplaces and bunk style beds (your own sleeping bag or bedding is required). Bathrooms and shower facilities are in a separate cabin and all meals will be served in the dining hall. You can read more about the facilities here.
We travel by school bus.
As this a leadership conference, we do encourage you to meet new people outside of your immediate circle of friends. Cabin and skillbuilding groups will be created at random. You may not switch your assignment unless there is an extreme circumstance at which point you are encouraged to speak with a skillbuilder or teacher.
Medeba takes the special needs of attendees very seriously. We will collect this information once we have confirmed you are attending. This information will be sent to the camp in advance. No changes will be made once you arrive. Unfortunately, requests for Halal cannot be accommodated, a vegetarian option will be provided instead.
Students are not permitted to bring snacks outside of something to eat on the bus ride up if they would like. Medeba is a nut-free facility, and this has not been respected in the past, therefore Bramalea students are forbidden for bringing up snacks. That being said, the Bramarama staff team will be providing snacks both Wednesday and Thursday night, and will have extras for any grumbly tummies during the day. Medeba also has open access to a fruit bowl and drinks (water, juice, etc) during the day.
There is a tuck shop on site that delegates can visit during free time. They accept cash and card, and prices are similar to that of your local convenience store. They sell Medeba merchandise as well as lots of snacks. If you decide to purchase snacks, please leave your cabin in a good state, otherwise the tuck shop may be closed in future years.
A prayer room will be available at Camp Medeba for use! Once you are accepted to Bramarama, a Student Information Form will be emailed to you to complete. Please indicate in this form that you require a prayer room. One member of the staff team will be in touch to discuss what arrangements you need, so we can coordinate with Medeba.
Camp Medeba is an outdoor adventure camp. They have made every effort to ensure that students with mobility challenges can be active participants during the stay. There are sleeping accommodations that are physically accessible. The Dining Hall (where all meals are had) and Mountain Lodge (where whole-group activities take place) are also wheelchair-friendly. Most pathways are not paved and are either sand or mulch. Programming modifications will be made on a case-by-case basis with individual students and their families to ensure they have the best experience possible!
Yes! All attendees are required to attend a meeting before we leave for Bramarama. Families of attendees are invited to attend an information meeting on Thursday, October 2nd at 6pm at Bramalea SS in the library.
You are encouraged to only bring the essentials, as space on the buses is limited. Each student may bring 1 sleeping bag and pillow, 1 duffle bag/suitcase and one carry on. As we will be going in October, warm clothing including hats and mitts are needed. Waterproof clothing is a must as activities take place rain or shine. Leave anything of value at home as there is no place to store it securely. Any items that would not be allowed at school (weapons, alcohol, illegal substances) are not allowed at camp. If you are caught with any item contrary to the school policy you will be returning home.
Packing list:
Sleeping bag, pillow, blankets
Warm sweaters, hoodies, jacket
Mitts, hats, warm socks
Waterproof shoes
Flashlight
Extra socks, shirts
Toiletries
You need to bring your health card with you to camp. If you do not have an Ontario Health Card you must provide proof of independent insurance. If you are injured or fall ill while you are at the camp and need to go to the hospital you will be transported to Haliburton Hospital by one of the teachers on site. Your parents/guardians will be contacted and arrangements will be made as needed for you to return home.
If you do not have an Ontario Health Card and need independent insurance, consider exploring the option provided by PDSB here: https://www.peelschools.org/student-insurance
Following the PDSB March 9th 2022 announcement, there are no longer any masking, distancing, or cohorting expectations for field trips and overnight excursions. However, students who wish to wear PPE are welcome to and PPE will be available on the trip. All participants should self-screen for COVID symptoms before leaving. Should a student become symptomatic while on the trip, either transportation will be arranged for them to return home or they will be isolated for the remainder of the trip.
There is a small pond on the property of Camp Medeba that is surrounded by a fence. As indicated on the permission form, there are absolutely no water activities scheduled for the trip, and students are forbidden from accessing the water. Swimming is forbidden. There will be evening security patrolling around the pond to ensure no students are approaching the water. During the day, students will be with their groups participating in activities and should not stray from their group.
