We are now in a position where we are able to start to announce 5 of our new staff to you all for the next academic year. Please see the link below.
We also have additional staff members to announce once we receive clearance from HR. We will hopefully be able to send these after Eid.
On Wednesday 18th, to support your child with their transition into their next year group, they will have an opportunity to visit their new classroom and visit their new teacher, either in person or on-line. They would have also had the opportunity of a shared lunch in their relevant Milepost areas on the previous day to aid familiarity. This transition programme will take place for the whole school. On Wednesday 18th, we will also inform you as parents, of your child's teacher for next year. If you prefer your child not to take part in this due to your child potentially leaving school, please inform your child's class teacher. In terms of classes, we are looking to sustain the current model to main stability and consistency for our students.
MPSL/ ECA- A huge congratulations to the whole school team who support the Muscat Primary Sports Leagues, you will see from the poster below that we have had significant success! The foundation of this success is based on our staff providing opportunities to train, before after and during the school day. Our PE staff Iveth and Scott dedicate several hours a week to train the students so they are able to perform at the highest levels, the success they have achieved is not by luck.
Many thank to all staff who have played a role in PDO schools achievements.
Last week, our U11 Girls headed to MIS for another basketball tournament. After being unbeaten against five schools this year, we entered this tournament full of confidence. A tough but convincing win against ISWKi (8-4) and a basketball showcase against BSM (12-0) took the girls to the semis with another great performance (vs OPIS) meant the girls faced MIS in the final. It was an extremely close game with just one basket being the difference. We had lots of great opportunities and on another day, the victory would have been ours. However, it has been a fantastic season for the girls and I hope this is just the start of their basketball journey. Well done. We are very proud of you.
This week brought a close to our MPSL season. We hosted a Waterpolo festival with 4 schools attending, including TAISM, Royal Flight and ABA. It was a very hot afternoon with some fantastic water polo being played. We brought this game to the MPSL league two years ago and its great to see other schools including it in their after-school programmes and swim lessons as we have. The standard improves each year and this time we missed out on the trophy in the final. Overall, it was a very enjoyable event and a great way to end the MPSL year. Well done Scorpions!
This was a our final week of enrichment and what a year it has been. We have had numerous clubs across sports, arts and music as well as many others. All offered to enrich the experience of our students. The uptake has been great with children coming before school, at lunchtime and after school to be part of the different things we have had on offer. In addition to our teacher led clubs we have also had Swimming for Briswim, specialist golf from coach Zander at RAHGC, gymnastics from Orion Gymnastics and Robotics for the first time by RoboThink. All external providers have proven to be very popular with our students and they have all commented on how impressed they have been with the attitude and effort from our students over the course of the year; we look forward to offering these opportunities' again next year.
We would like to sincerely thank our supportive parent community for encouraging their children to join the Arabic After-School Club. It has been a joyful journey, and we’re proud of the progress and enthusiasm shown by our young learners.

As the mother language of their host country, the Sultanate of Oman, Arabic plays a vital role in the local culture. From the first sessions, students showed great excitement—starting with greetings, they quickly began using Arabic to interact with one another.
A favourite moment was learning to write their names in Arabic, which they did with focus and pride. The children also explored numbers, colours, body parts, fruits, and vegetables—all in Arabic—through fun and interactive activities.
Their curiosity and motivation remained strong throughout, and many have expressed a desire to continue learning.
We are proud of their accomplishments and excited to support their continued language journey. Thank you again to all the families who made this experience possible.

What a roaring start to our Dinosaur Detective unit! The children walked into a classroom in chaos with furniture tipped over, dinosaur footprints everywhere and mysterious eggs waiting to be explored!

The Entry Point was filled with excitement and curiosity. We followed clues to another classroom where the children soaked the mystery eggs and were thrilled to discover baby dinosaurs inside. Later, loud dinosaur sounds led us out to the big grass pitch, where we spotted even more footprints. Back in class, we found a photo, proof that a dinosaur had really visited! The children were highly engaged and full of questions, which set the stage for enquiry-based learning. Through this unit, we are supporting Sustainable Development Goal 4 by creating a joyful and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to explore, think critically and work together.
This week in Milepost 1 Ethan Plants a Great Idea! Year 2 Student Leads the Way with Seed-Inspired Art!
Our Greenfields IPC unit has truly taken root in Year 2—especially for Ethan, who was inspired to take his learning beyond the classroom! After bringing in seeds from home and explaining their types to the class, Ethan asked if he could create seed art to share his growing passion. With support from Ms Haifa, Ethan designed his very own lesson plan and led a fantastic art session with the whole class. This wonderful moment showed how our IPC learning connects school and home, and how Ethan used his communication and thinking skills to guide others. We’re so proud of his leadership and creativity—what an amazing example of child voice in action! After the lesson, Ms Arlene interviewed Ethan about what it was like to teach his classmates and how he knew it was successful. Ethan confidently replied, "Well, they followed the steps—and I enjoyed being in charge!"
This week we received a very special message from Polar Explorer Rob Swan! An advocate for the protection of Antarctica and renewable energy and the founder of 2041, a company which is dedicated to the preservation of the Antarctic, Rob was the first person to walk to both the North and South Pole.

In Term 2, Year 4 pupils became 'Champions of Antarctica' and joined Rob's Challenge to learn about the world's last great wilderness and the importance of learning about and protecting a landscape that belongs to all of us and therefore we all have an ethical duty to look after. The children were delighted to have their learning and efforts acknowledged by a polar explorer!
As part of our What a Wonderful World topic, Year 6 pupils have been learning all about landforms. We began by revisiting our Knowledge Harvest, sharing what we already knew and wanted to find out.
To kickstart our learning, we played a fun 'Quiz, Quiz, Trade' game where children exchanged facts about 15 different landforms. This helped us remember key features while having fun with our classmates.
Next, we worked in groups to match photographs, names, and facts about five landforms. This hands-on activity helped us make clear connections between landform names, their appearances and their defining features.
After visiting each table to learn even more facts, we took part in a Kahoot! quiz to show off all the knowledge we had gained.
Finally, we returned to our Knowledge Harvest to update it with everything we had learned.
As always, it's wonderful to see lots of learning objectives and PLGs being achieved!
