Dear Parents,
Here are further details on our School 60 years celebration that takes place next Wednesday, 10th of June. Our students and staff have been working incredibly hard to put together a memorable afternoon of music and reflection.
Here is a little flavour of what you and your family can look forward to:
Live Student Performances: Enjoy musical showcases from our talented Keyboard players, African Drumming group, Guitars, Ukuleles and our school Choir.
Special Video Presentations: Take a trip down memory lane with a look back at the rich history of our school and community.
Community Reception: Join us immediately after the performances for a celebratory buffet in the Learning Souk area (Adults only)
To ensure the event runs smoothly and safely for everyone, please take note of the following important logistical details:
Seating Deadline: Parents must be seated by 12:35 PM. Doors open 12:15pm
Late Arrivals: To avoid disrupting the children's performances and the opening speeches, late arrivals may be asked to wait outside the hall until an appropriate moment in the event to enter.
Parking & Transport
Expect Parking Challenges: We are honoured to welcome several external VIP guests from the Ministry of Education and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) on the day. Because of this, parking will be very limited.
Car Pooling: We strongly encourage families to carpool where possible to reduce traffic.
Designated Bays Only: If you are parking within the school grounds, please ensure you park strictly within the marked parking bays.
We recently shared a sign-up form so that seating arrangements could be completed. We look forward to welcoming all parents who were able to sign up.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the event! Thank you for your continued support.

We kindly ask for your support in capturing moments when your child demonstrates any of the Personal Learning Goals - whether at home, in the park, during outdoor play or in daily routines. For example, if your child shows collaboration while playing outside, you may upload one photo and select the appropriate Personal Goal folder (e.g., “Collaboration”).
Families are welcome to share one photo per week if they wish, highlighting a Personal Goal your child has demonstrated.
Please click on the Padlet link below to share your child’s achievement with our community. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to celebrate their out-of-school achievements and for us to reinforce that their Personal Learning Goals are transferable skills beyond the classroom.
Thank you for supporting the celebration of children’s achievements.
The IC Team
This week in Nursery, the children explored maths through their everyday play and investigations.

Maths can be found in the patterns they create, the tools they used in role play and the questions they ask as they explored the world around them. Through these meaningful, hands-on experiences, the children developed their understanding of shape, space, measure and problem-solving. In true IEYC style, learning is driven by curiosity, creativity and play, helping our young minds make sense of the world around them.
Our Year 1 classes came together for an enjoyable phonics session filled with games, laughter, and teamwork. Children worked in pairs and small groups, engaging in interactive activities that encouraged them to reflect on how far they have come on their phonics journey.

It was inspiring to see the children encouraging one another, sharing strategies, and celebrating each success. This collaboration not only strengthened their phonics skills but also deepened the friendships that have grown across the classes throughout the year.
We are proud of their enthusiasm, resilience, and the wonderful progress they continue to make.
As part of their IPC Chocolate unit, Year 4 became master chocolatiers as they designed their own signature chocolate bars and created eye-catching confectionery boxes to showcase their creations.

The children carefully considered flavour combinations and invented imaginative names that reflected the unique taste profiles of their chocolates. Their packaging designs featured detailed ingredient lists, engaging background stories and creative marketing ideas. Many students went the extra mile by including quizzes, games, fun facts and interactive features to attract customers and make their products stand out. The project was a wonderful opportunity for the children to combine creativity, design skills and persuasive marketing techniques while bringing their delicious ideas to life. We look forward to inviting parents to taste these delicious treats next week!

Well done to the Year 4 students who volunteered to perform in Tuesday's assembly. The children did a wonderful job showcasing the trumpet and clarinet skills they have been developing as part of their Year 4 curriculum.
A huge congratulations to our newest Learners of the Week! This award recognises the incredible effort they put into their learning and the excellent ways they are putting their personal goals into practice. It's fantastic to see them growing and becoming such dedicated and confident learners.
