Soar to New Heights with Peter Pan!
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming production of Peter Pan, where our pupils will take to the stage in a whirlwind of adventure, music, and magic! The true value of this experience lies in the lifelong skills our children are developing along the way.
Being part of a school production fosters teamwork as pupils collaborate, support one another, and work towards a shared goal. It builds confidence as they step out of their comfort zones, perform in front of an audience, and discover their own capabilities. Creativity flourishes as they bring characters to life, design sets, and solve problems together. And, of course, they learn the importance of perseverance—rehearsals can be challenging, but the reward of a standing ovation makes every effort worthwhile!
These skills—teamwork, confidence, creativity, and resilience—are just as vital to future success as academic achievements. Whether in future careers, relationships, or personal growth, the lessons learned on stage will help our children navigate challenges and seize opportunities with courage and imagination. As a school we recognise that creativity can play a key role in a child's future; we continue to develop these important dispositions in our students.
So please come along to cheer on our young performers—not just for the show itself, but for the incredible growth they’ve shown along the way. Together, let’s celebrate their hard work and watch them shine! Please find details of the show dates below.
"All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust!"
This leads me perfectly into the article on our display at Bait Al Zubair (see below); this was a major school art project that was created and designed by Ms Jo and the students. The end product is clear for all to see, the creative processes involved are the key learning element. The project has now been displayed several times in external venues. We are all very proud of this project and how it values creativity in our students.

This week marks Dutch Cultural Week in Muscat and front and centre of the exhibition hall Bait Nahdah, within Bait Al Zubair, you can find the sculptures created by PDO School students on display.
These sculptures were chosen to be part of the 'Emotions of the Oceans' exhibition alongside artwork from other schools and pupils in Muscat. A very proud moment for PDO School, our pupils should be very proud of their efforts and this recognition.
A special thank you to Miss Jo for facilitating our pupils in the creation of these phenomenal pieces of artwork and liaising with the exhibition team.
The exhibit is open to the public from 9am- 5pm until the end of next week.
We would like to invite all parents to a Maths workshop on 'Helping your child with Maths at home'. The presentation will suggest practical activities that can be completed at home and suggest resources that you can use to support your child's learning in school.
Please take a moment to complete this survey to share your feedback on Book Week 2025.
We’ve welcomed new friends to Toddler Hut! The children are settling in beautifully, enjoying role play in the kitchen and exciting adventures with dinosaurs. Each session is full of fun, friendship, and discovery.

Social Skills - collaboration, communication and empathy.
Physical Development - Fine motor and gross motor skills.
These building and role-playing opportunities are powerful, integrated learning experiences that help children make sense of the world. Nursery Frogs are great builders!
This week, our Year 1 students took their maths learning outside for a practical lesson on predicting and measuring capacity. Working in pairs, the children chose a variety of differently shaped and sized containers, then estimated how many cups of water each would hold. After making their predictions, they tested them by carefully filling the containers and counting the cups. It was a fantastic way to develop key skills such as estimation, measuring, accuracy, counting and teamwork – all while enjoying being outdoors!
This week in Milepost 1, Year 4 students researched and compared cacao growing countries with chocolate manufacturing countries as part of our IPC 'Chocolate' unit.

We began by marking the location of the top 8 cacao producing countries, noticing their proximity to the equator. Using globes and packaging, we used skimming and scanning reading skills to identify where the chocolate product had been made.
Hashir in 4E made a great connection between our prior learning in our Explorers and Adventurers unit, noticing that many of the chocolate manufacturing countries were located in Europe, where many explorers during the Age of Exploration were from.
This week, Year 6 showcased their learning in gymnastics with some short performances. They created sequences to demonstrate fluency, mirror and matching and unison all whilst collaborating effectively and working to each others' strengths.
As always, it's wonderful to see lots of learning objectives and PLGs being achieved!
Just a gentle reminder — if your child is turning 3, you're warmly invited to register them at PDO School and join our Toddler Hut sessions!
These sessions are a fantastic way for little ones to explore through play and start feeling right at home in our school setting. If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to reach out to us at notices@pdoschool.com. We can’t wait to welcome you and your little ones to Toddler Hut!
