A Special Thank You
As parents, your primary interface with the school is naturally with our teachers and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs). They are the face of your child’s education. However, behind the classroom walls, there is a dedicated team of "unsung heroes" whose work often goes unseen, but whose impact is felt the moment you step onto our campus.
After four decades of working in schools, I can say with certainty: we are currently receiving the highest level of service I have ever witnessed from a support team.
Our cleaning team, led by Ram, is on-site every morning at 5:30 AM while most of us are still asleep. Thanks to their tireless work, this is quite simply the cleanest school I have ever worked in. Their dedication even extends to the grounds—I have never seen a car park as well-maintained and spotless as ours.
Our Admin Team acts as the school’s central nervous system. They are the ones ensuring we have every resource needed for a lesson, meticulously managing the logistics of school trips, and ensuring that every invoice is paid on time; working with our maintenance teams to ensure we have AC, and other utilities. Their efficiency allows our educators to focus entirely on teaching.
Our School Nurse wears many hats. Beyond tending to scraped knees and keeping us healthy, she plays a vital role in our HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) department, keeping the entire infrastructure safe for your children.
Simultaneously, our Computing Team works quietly in the background to ensure that our digital world never falters. From ensuring the printers are ready for morning worksheets to managing the complex networks that allow us to log on and learn, they keep us connected.
And of course our security and road safety team who keep us all safe.
Without these teams working "behind the scenes," our teaching staff and LSAs would not be able to function in such a productive, seamless manner. They are not just "extra help"—they are an essential part of our school’s infrastructure.
So, the next time you see a member of the maintenance, admin, or support staff, please join us in giving them a smile of thanks.
What a wonderful Thursday morning! A Big thanks to all the families and PDO children who came out to support our Milepost 2/3 Choir and Ukulele Group. This was the first performance for the Ukulele Group this year and the Milepost 2/3 choir demonstrated their versatility with a mixture of popular and traditional songs. Both groups were brilliant! 🎶
Check out the link below to see some of our favourite highlights from the concert.

Our Entry Point into our new unit, 'My Toy Shop' was truly magical! The children were amazed to discover a rather large gift box waiting for them. Inside, we found a special letter from the Toy Maker along with a wonderful selection of treats and toys.
It was a very special moment in the Early Years and the perfect start to 'My Toy Shop.'
Our Year 1 children had a fantastic time this week on their trip to the Children’s Library.
The excitement began on the coach ride, with plenty of chat and excitement for the day ahead. Once we arrived, the children took part in a lively book scavenger hunt, explored our known fairytale stories through a fun game of Guess the Fairytale, and worked together to create freeze‑frame scenes.

A real highlight was using 3D pens to design and create their own images — a wonderful blend of creativity and hands‑on learning. We rounded off the visit by enjoying lunch together in a space within the library.
It was a day full of curiosity, imagination, and shared experiences, and the children represented the school beautifully.
A huge thank you to all the Year 1 parents and to some of our teachers who have joined us this half term to read with our Year 1 children. Your support has brought our IPC unit The Stories People Tell to life in the most meaningful way.

We’ve loved hearing the stories that shaped your own childhoods, traditional tales from your home countries, especially stories shared in your home languages. These moments have helped our children see storytelling as something universal, diverse, and deeply personal.
Your time, enthusiasm, and willingness to share a piece of your own culture have enriched our classrooms and sparked so many thoughtful conversations. We are truly grateful.
Year 4 students have embarked on an exciting historical journey through The Age of Exploration, developing their understanding of how the world became more connected through sea voyages and trade.

As part of their learning, pupils focused on building a clearer understanding of historical timelines. Working collaboratively in small research teams to deepen their geographical understanding, the children mapped significant trade routes across continents, identifying connections between Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Through this activity, they explored how goods, cultures and ideas travelled across oceans, shaping societies around the world. Year 4 demonstrated maturity and empathy in their conversations, carefully considering different perspectives and the long-term effects of historical events.
This week Year 6 have been developing their Geography skills. We have been comparing the land formations of Earth and Mars in order to make suggestions about future life on the red planet. The Year 6 children have been working in small groups across classes in order to gain differing perspectives and develop their personal learning goals.

We are excited to welcome author, poet and storyteller Clive Piggott to school for a special visit on Monday 2nd March 2026. Clive will be working with pupils from EY to Y6 and will run interactive storytelling performances and creative writing workshops, inspiring children to use imagination, language and confidence in their own writing. We are looking forward to a fun, creative and inspiring experience for all pupils.
Following the day in classes, at 2pm Clive will also be selling and signing copies of his books if parents wished to purchase. Unicorn in the Playground and Jurassic Cove will be available to purchase for 5 OMR from 2:00 - 2:30pm directly from Clive in the Learning Souq.
