Our annual Sports Days have been a resounding success, serving as a testament to the spirit of our school community. The atmosphere was filled with cheers, laughter and a shared sense of pride.
At the heart of this triumph was the impeccable leadership of Ms. Iveth and Ms. Jamie. Their meticulous organisation and unwavering attention to detail ensured the days ran seamlessly from start to finish. Because of their hard work, every single student had the opportunity to be fully involved. It was wonderful to see every child, regardless of their athletic starting point completing the sporting activities with a smile of achievement!
The day also highlighted the beautiful bond that defines our school; the mentorship provided by our older students. It was heartwarming to watch them step up as true role models, offering encouragement, guiding the younger children to their events and cheering the loudest for our littlest athletes. This support system is a cornerstone of our school culture and seeing it in action reminded us all of the kindness and leadership our older pupils possess.
Finally, a massive thank you goes to our parents. Your presence on the sidelines and your constant support of your children in all their endeavors truly makes these events special. Seeing the joy on the students' faces as they looked to the crowd for a proud wave or a thumbs-up was the perfect finishing touch to a memorable day. Thank you all for making this Sports Day one for the history books!
We are excited to continue sharing our Personal Goals Padlet platform in our weekly newsletter to celebrate achievements together as a wider community.
We kindly ask for your support in capturing moments when your child demonstrates any of the Personal Learning Goals - whether at home, in the park, during outdoor play or in daily routines. For example, if your child shows collaboration while playing outside, you may upload one photo and select the appropriate Personal Goal folder (e.g., “Collaboration”).
Families are welcome to share one photo per week if they wish, highlighting a Personal Goal your child has demonstrated.
Please click on the Padlet link below to share your child’s achievement with our community. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to celebrate their out-of-school achievements and for us to reinforce that their Personal Learning Goals are transferable skills beyond the classroom.
Thank you for supporting the celebration of children’s achievements.

The children in Y5&6 have been starting to learn how to use JavaScript - the computing language that changes static web pages into applications. Previously they learned how to use loops and variables to draw spiral patterns with block based coding. Now they are using their knowledge of algorithms and to achieve the same with text based coding.

The JavaScript code can look quite scary at first, but by building on the understanding of the algorithms gained with block based coding, it becomes quite manageable to achieve the same using JavaScript. It is fascinating to see how much variety can be created from so little code.

Through carefully planned PE sessions, linked to the curriculum and personal goals, the children have built strength, coordination, confidence and perseverance. It was amazing to see them demonstrate everything they have learnt and enjoy every moment of the day. A huge thank you to Miss Iveth for her hard work and to Miss Jo for capturing these moments. Thank you to all the parents for joining us.
This week in Milepost 1 the children began their journey into Greenfingers!

We spoke about things that make plants grow and what plants might need to grow. The children made connections to their previous STEM topic of plants and discussed what they would like in their dream garden. The children made a plan of their garden and used the available resources to be as imaginative and creative as they wanted! Some gardens had ponds, some had different types of animals and some even had benches and swings. One student said 'This garden is to help me feel calm and other people feel calm.' The next stage of our learning journey begins next week with our investigation into what we already know and want to find out and flowers around the world!
As part of our IPC Adventurers and Explorers topic, Year 4 enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to the Al Ansab Wetlands. The trip gave us the chance to explore a unique natural environment and learn more about how people and wildlife interact with the world around us.

During our visit, the children worked like real explorers, carefully observing the wetlands and identifying native bird species ahead of the migration period. Using information boards and guidance from staff, pupils learned how to spot key features and distinguish between different birds, developing both their scientific knowledge and their observation skills.
As part of their Mission to Mars unit, Year 6 have been learning about the planets, developing their knowledge of their names and order from the Sun.

They applied mathematical skills to calculate each planet’s diameter and then scaled these down so that Mercury remained visible while Jupiter could still fit on the page. Using compasses and a large-scale compass made from string and a pencil, pupils drew the planets accurately to scale, demonstrating the PLGs of collaboration, communication and resilience throughout the task.
A huge congratulations to our newest Learners of the Week! This award recognises the incredible effort they put into their learning and the excellent ways they are putting their personal goals into practice. It's fantastic to see them growing and becoming such dedicated and confident learners.
