What an incredible start to our Tuesday! Arriving at school yesterday, we were greeted by two winners' trophies— won by our Boys U9 and U11 Benchball teams, a remarkable double victory, especially as we competed against teams from schools that are significantly larger than our own!
Naturally, whilst wonderful to celebrate the overall wins, it is most important to celebrate the success of all our sports teams that have competed this term. Developing exceptional sportsmanship, determination and teamwork is so important and we must reflect on the wonderful efforts and positive behaviours displayed by our students when representing our school. Well done all!
This outstanding success is not an accident; it's the result of strategic planning and commitment embedded across our Physical Education curriculum:
Deep-Rooted Skill Mastery: Our curriculum ensures that fundamental gross motor skills are developed at a young age. This early focus provides a robust technical foundation, allowing our students can effectively compete.
Commitment to Excellence: Our students voluntarily dedicate themselves to training, often utilising time before school and during lunch breaks to hone their teamwork and individual abilities.
Inspirational Leadership: The passion and drive provided by Ms. Iveth and Ms. Jamie are infectious, pushing our athletes to achieve competitive success by all. Their focus on essential sportsmanship and sense of fair play further helps our children in their development of strong values. Thanks also to all the other staff who support with training and at these events.
Next time you are in school please take some time to look at all the trophies that we have won over the last few years.
HSE Concern
We are writing to address a growing safety concern that we have observed recently: children exiting parked vehicles and immediately walking in front of the vehicles to cross the road during the morning drop off.
When exiting a vehicle, please ensure your child follows these non-negotiable guidelines:
Safety Zone First: The moment your child exits the car, they must head directly to the nearest footpath, if children are sat on the right side of the car then they can alight straight on to the pavement.
No Walking in Front of Vehicles: Children must not walk around the front of the parked vehicle to cross the road.
Use Designated Crossings: If they need to cross the road, they should always walk to a designated crossing area.
Many thanks for your support.
Over the past few weeks, our PE Department has been buzzing with excitement and achievement!

On November 11, we proudly hosted a very successful Girls Bench Ball Tournament with 8 schools participating. Our PDO teams showed exceptional sportsmanship, determination and teamwork. The U9 girls worked incredibly hard and secured a well-earned 6th place, while our U11 girls impressed with a strong 3rd place finish - Well done girls!
On November 17th, we travelled to ABQ School for the Boys Benchball Tournament, where both of our teams went undefeated throughout the round-robin stages and returned home as CHAMPIONS! Their behaviour, effort and sportsmanship were outstanding and Miss Iveth and I couldn't have been more proud.
Beyond school events, several students have also shone in other athletic competitions: Ayla in Y5, achieved fantastic results at a BSM Swim Meet, earning 2 medals in backstroke and freestyle. Great job Ayla!
In addition, Sofiia in Y6 competed in the Dubai Open for Gymnastics Academies, representing the Orion Gymnastics team at the Aspire Gymnastics Center in Dubai. She delivered an impressive performance and proudly secured a silver medal. Great work Sofiia!
It is wonderful to see so many of our students thriving, staying active and representing PDO School with pride. Congratulations to all!
Today, the children attended a special assembly where they were introduced to our Personal Goals Padlet platform. They learned how we will be using it to celebrate achievements together as a wider community.
We kindly ask for your support in capturing moments when your child demonstrates any of the Personal Learning Goals - whether at home, in the park, during outside play or in daily routines. For example, if your child shows collaboration while playing outside, you may upload one photo and select the appropriate Personal Goal folder (e.g. “Collaboration”).
Families are welcome to share one photo per week if they wish, showing a Personal Goal their child has demonstrated.
Please click on the Padlet link below to share your child’s achievement with our community. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to celebrate their out-of-school achievements and for us to reinforce that their Personal Learning Goals are transferable skills beyond the classroom.
Thank you for supporting the celebration of children’s achievements.

We are lucky enough to have experts with us every day - Ms Kawthar and Ms Entisar, who have been explaining many aspects of Oman. We have looked at the flag (and learned the colours in Arabic), important clothing and accessories, traditions, food, drink, animals and places. The children have loved the chance to learn in a fun and hands-on way more about Oman, and been inspired to enjoy all it has to offer.
This week in Year 1 we have been consolidating our knowledge of numbers written as words. The children have been working hard to read number words with growing confidence and to show that they understand what each number means, completing activities independently to demonstrate this. We have explored different ways to represent numbers through pictures, objects and written forms which has helped us make stronger connections between the words and their values.
We are delighted to share the success of the recent Year 4 Active Planet IPC Exit Point. Students presented their learning journeys with confidence and enthusiasm, showcasing the breadth of their studies. Thank you to all parents who were able to support and attend.

In Geography, pupils examined landscapes and communities across the globe. Through History, they reflected on how societies have developed over time, with a particular focus on Pompeii, Italy. In English, outcomes included writing newspaper reports and developing speaking and listening skills through news presentations. This proved a firm favourite, with truly expressive reports published and shared. Their STEM projects highlighted innovation and practical problem‑solving, while the unit also incorporated the UNSDG theme of Sustainable Communities, encouraging global awareness and responsibility.
This week year 5 celebrated their learning with their 'Go with the Flow Exit Point. '

The children began with a unique, water-themed hand choreography before sharing their knowledge of river features with their parents through interactive learning games and handmade models. They then showcased their stop-animation skills, focusing on historical events that took place on rivers and finished with an exciting parents-versus-children quiz. Thank you to all the parents for attending, supporting your children and celebrating their growing understanding of how important rivers are to us all.
Early Years had been busy practising nursery rhymes ahead of the ‘Nursery Rhyme Olympics’. On the day, they engaged in a variety of activities that helped them develop skills linked to the rhymes, encouraging both creativity and confidence.
Thank you to all parents for attending and supporting the children in these activities. A special thanks to Miss Munira for organising this wonderful event and to Year 6 for their support during the activities.
A huge congratulations to our newest Learners of the Week! This award recognises the incredible effort they put into their learning and the excellent ways they are putting their personal goals into practice. It's fantastic to see them growing and becoming such dedicated and confident learners.
We would like to share awareness for parents that our school class photos will be taken in January 2026.
