Welcome back to a new school year! We are so excited to see all of your children's bright and smiling faces again. We hope you've had a wonderful and relaxing summer holiday.
We believe that an open and welcoming community is the key to a happy and successful school year. Your children's journey is a partnership between home and school and we encourage you to communicate openly with us. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
We'd like to extend a very warm welcome to all the new staff members who have joined our team. They have started the year in such a positive and enthusiastic manner and are already a wonderful addition to our community. They have been busy preparing their classrooms for the first day of term and are looking forward to welcoming you all on Sunday!
We also want to give a huge thank you to our supportive administrative staff and maintenance teams. They have been working incredibly hard all summer to ensure our school is clean, safe, and ready for everyone to return. The school pool has also had a full maintenance programme over the summer.
School officially begins on Sunday, the 24th, at 7:40 AM. We understand that the first day can be a big moment for some, so parents are welcome to enter the school on the first day.
If your child rides a bicycle or scooter to school, please take a moment to check that it has been maintained and is safe for use. This includes checking the tyres, brakes, and chains. A friendly reminder to all; a well-fitting helmet is required for all students riding a bicycle or scooter. Please note only those who completed the permission to walk/cycle home forms last year are allowed to depart alone on Sunday onwards (Year 4/5/6 only). For those who have not previously given permission and would like to allow their child to depart alone from Sunday onwards, please complete the link below.
We invite all families to our special 'Meet the Teacher' event on Tuesday the 26th of August. The event will begin at 5:00 PM in the main hall with an overview for all parents. After this you can move to the classrooms to meet your child's class teacher. This is a great opportunity to say hello, find your child's classroom and get to know their teacher. After this, all teachers and parents can meet in the Learning Souk for refreshments where we can answer any questions that you may have. We look forward to seeing you all at this start of year event.
Details on class routines will be shared by class teachers on Seesaw, please note that Seesaw is our main communication tool and this is where your child's class teacher will contact you. Please ensure you are signed up to Seesaw and that your account is operational. Please contact notices@pdoschool.com if there are any issues.
