Over the next few weeks, we will be learning to spell further homophones. These are words that sound the same but have different spellings. This week, the homophones we are learning are:

reading
Children should be reading at home every day for at least 30 minutes.
PM Readers: Children will bring home up to 2 PM books to read at home. These books are for decoding practise and should provide some amount of challenge. Comprehension questions should be asked to ensure children understand what they have read. These books can be changed each day at school. Children will also bring home a book from the class library. This may be above their decoding level and is intented as a book to share with an adult. Comprehension questions from the VIPERS prompts can be used. Children should fill in the reading summary each day to show what they have read. This book will take longer to read and can be changed when completed.
Free Readers: Children will bring home a book from the class library. They will be encouraged to read books by a range of authors and across a range of genres. Children should fill in the reading summary each day to show what they have read. Comprehension questions from the VIPERS prompts can be used. Children should fill in the reading summary each day to show what they have read. This book will take longer to read and can be changed when completed.
Maths
Children should be practicing times tables and division facts on a daily basis. They can do this using Times Table Rockstars or Hit the Button. Please also practice multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 and number bonds if necessary.
Children can access the current objectives on Daily 10 - Level 5. For the next few weeks we are focusing are on decimal numbers.
