Using a template, like the UEN logo to the left, students can play with color and design elements to create a play on an existing logo or develop something completely new.

One of the most important parts of a design is the color used throughout. However, there are some great tools for creating and sharing color palettes.

My favorite is Adobe Color. This free tool is completely web based and requires no logins. Users can quickly create color schemes based on their choices and Adobe Color will give recommendations on colors that go well together. Users can also upload any picture and grab the hex code (the color designation of numbers and letters) and copy that to any project.

Google Drawings can be added to a handful of other Google Tools including Docs and Sheets.

To add your Drawing, click insert, choose drawing, and follow the steps. Students will be able to quickly brand their work, add charts and graphs, and add some art to their work.

One issue that many students face is citing their images correctly. Using Google Drawings it is easier than ever. Have the students place their artwork, image, or chart on a Google Drawing, include the citation, and then place it where it is needed.
