Among the things I like most about the PCTM Annual Conference is the face-to-face interactions
that build connections, creates friendships, and provides an amazing highway of informational
exchange and sharing of ideas and educational practices. Seeing the extensive planning of the
conference come together fills the air with excitement and anticipation. This year holds even
more excitement as PCTM celebrates its 75 th Anniversary. I hope that you will find this year a
special experience that you won’t forget! Make sure to see the historic display of PCTM
memorabilia through the past years. We will also have some special speakers share short stories
about the history and events of PCTM during lunch on Thursday and Friday.
The PCTM Board has been working diligently to revise the PCTM Constitution and By-Laws
and has completed the work. I would like to encourage each of you to attend the PCTM General
Membership Meeting, which is for the PCTM members, to be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at
10:30 AM in Salon B. This is a time to hear what PCTM has done this past year, to have you
approve the PCTM Constitution and By-Laws revisions, and for you to have a voice during an
open session of the meeting.
Registration for the second annual PA Mathematics Teaching Summitt opened on August 3,
2026. The Summitt will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Carlow University, Pittsburgh,
PA. Information and registration link for the PA Mathematics Teaching Summitt may be found
on the PCTM website at www.pctm.org under Events. The PA Mathematics Teaching Summitt
is a Professional Development Day for both Pre-Service Teachers and In-Service Teachers. The
cost is only $20.00 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. We had such an amazing day
last year with almost 100 attendees, enriching sessions, and great fun at lunch with everyone
going home with a door prize. Don’t miss this wonderful day of mathematics with your
colleagues!
Next year the PCTM Annual Conference will be held in Lancaster on August 4-6, 2027 at The
Holiday Inn Lancaster, The Imperial Event Center, 26 East Chestnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17602.
This is a new venue for us and we are excited about the historic location and Keynote Speakers,
Vanessa Vakharia (www.themathguru.ca/vanessa) and Maddie Loring (2026 Pennsylvania
Teacher of the Year). The Pre-Conference Speaker is David Costello (costellomath.com).

Welcome to the 75th Annual Conference of the Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics! It is truly an honor to welcome you as we celebrate 75 years of supporting and inspiring mathematics educators across Pennsylvania.
This year’s conference theme, Inspiring Minds, Igniting Mathematical Futures, reflects the work we do every day in our classrooms. Throughout the conference, you will have the opportunity to learn from outstanding keynote speakers, participate in engaging breakout sessions, and connect with colleagues who share your passion for mathematics education.
One of the best parts of the PCTM Conference is the opportunity to collaborate and share ideas with other educators. Whether you are discovering a new instructional strategy, exploring resources in the exhibit hall, or simply talking with fellow teachers between sessions, I hope you leave feeling inspired and energized to bring new ideas back to your students.
We are also excited to introduce our Classroom Connections Poster Session, where teachers will be sharing innovative ideas and strategies from their own classrooms. These informal conversations highlight the creativity and dedication of math educators and provide a great opportunity to learn from one another.
This conference would not be possible without the many volunteers, presenters, sponsors, and PCTM members who worked hard to make this event happen. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and talents.
Thank you for being part of this special 75th anniversary celebration. I hope you enjoy the conference and take advantage of the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and celebrate mathematics education together.
