Dance Ensemble
The dance ensemble is an extra curricular club that is open to any student at PCTI who enjoys dancing. From the beginner to the advanced dancer, everyone is welcome and encouraged to take part in this very special opportunity. Auditions are held every September and rehearsals run after school from September through December. All members perform in the annual winter dance concert which is held in December.
Description:
The purpose of the dance ensemble is to encourage and actively promote student involvement in dance. The audition is open to the entire school population and selections will be made based on students’ talent, ability to pick up new material, work ethic, and attitude. Students who are not selected as dancers can still be involved as assistants in production. With the guidance of an advisor, students will collaborate to create an original dance concert.
Performances:
The Dance Ensemble will perform an evening dance concert on Thursday, December 15th and Friday, December 16th. There may be additional performances over the courses of the year. The most up to date rehearsal schedule can be found on the PCTI Dance Website at: https://sites.google.com/pcti.mobi/pctidance/dance-ensemble/rehearsal-schedule
Rehearsals:
Rehearsals will take place Monday - Friday after school between three and six o’clock. Students’ rehearsal schedule will depend on the dances they have been placed in based on their audition. It is imperative that students attend all rehearsals. Any student who misses more than two rehearsals will not be allowed to perform in that dance. Students are also required to attend tech rehearsals and a dress rehearsal on Wednesday, December 14th in order to participate in the performance.
Guidelines for Participation:
All dancers must be prepared for rehearsals. If you missed a rehearsal it is your responsibility to speak with the advisor and explain your absence, as well as to meet with another dancer to learn the material missed. -Do not come to rehearsals unprepared. Any dancer who misses more than two rehearsal will be dismissed from that dance.
