Bucket filling and bucket dipping is something that every student at Sycamore (k-1st grade ) learns about. This helps develop empathy and encourage a positive school climate.
Kelso's Choice is another concept that helps kids develop their own conflict resolution skills. Every student at SES will be taught these skills. Kids are smart enough to handle small problems, they just need the tools to do it.
The We Do Listen foundation has online books and lessons that teach different character and life skills to Kindergarten age students. Every K student at SES will participate in the Howard B. Wigglebottom series.

The school participates in the Great Kindness Challenge every year. It is a wonderful event. The event is held on the last week of January every year. Click on the link above for more information.
In the last school year's event of 2025:
Sycamore turned in 2,164 acts of Kindness in one week!
