If you're new to the sport of track & field, it can be an overwhelming experience to attend a track meet and see all of the events going on. Below is some helpful information about what you might see at the meet and what's going on.
Field Events- start at the beginning of the meet before the running events and continue until completed
Shot put, discus, high jump, long jump, pole vault
Running Events- begin roughly 15-20 minutes after field events

Athletes will need to remember to report to their running events by 2nd call at the latest. By the time they make a 3rd call, they are getting ready to start the event. For field events, athletes should report to the designated area for the event after the first call is made, if they don’t go there right away after warm-ups have been completed.
