About Mrs. Traylor

My name is Melissa Traylor and I am in my 8th year teaching music in the Pike County School Corporation. I am very excited about the 2017-2018 school year!!!

Education: I went to Pike Central High School and graduated in 2004. After that, I went on to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Indiana State University in December 2009. While there, I was active in the Marching Sycamores, Symphonic Band, Concert Choir, Sycamore Singers, and other activities! I am licensed to teach K-12 Choral, Instrumental, and General Music.

Teaching Experience: The first 5 years of my teaching career were teaching elementary music at Petersburg Elementary. After that, I spent one year teaching Middle School General Music and Band at Pike Central. In the fall of 2016, I transitioned to the position of Middle School and High School Choir at Pike Central. I am starting my 2nd year teaching Choir and am very excited for a wonderful school year!

My family is very important to me! Pictured above are my husband, TJ, and me in the first picture. The second picture is my stepson Jonathan, who will be in 1st grade at Petersburg Elementary this fall. He is a very active kid and would be outside playing from sunrise to sunset if we would let him! :) He loves to play any sport and is very active in various Pike County ball leagues! GO CHARGERS!

I am a big sports fan! I follow the Indiana Pacers and the St. Louis Cardinals! Here is a picture of my friend and I at a St. Louis Cardinals game!

Last November, my sister had her first child and I became an aunt! This is my nephew Milo Grey after he was born and I am very proud of him as you can tell!

Here is my contact information so feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
