Voting makes you part of the "club," but you needn't have any special knowledge to join. You know as much as anybody else does about what matters to you in your life, what you want and need to live happily, healthily, and securely. That is what voting is about. Smoking in public, dogs on leashes, what kids learn, who pays for emergency room visits, these are all things that can be decided by voting. If you don't know about all the issues or candidates, that's OK. Just pick one issue or candidate to investigate and try it out. You can leave everything else blank!

Like every state, Ohio has two senators. Yours are Senator Sherrod Brown and Senator Rob Portman.
But do you know your Congressperson? He or she speaks for you in the House of Representatives. You can Tweet to them or call them with your concerns, big or small. Someone always answers the phone, and your message is written down, even if it's a complaint rather than a question. They need to know what you are thinking, what your needs are, and when you are pleased or displeased. This is their job.
Know Thyself!
