About the Conference

Educational Leaders plays a significant role in setting direction, creating a positive school culture, supporting staff motivation, and enhancing students' academic achievement. While significant, the COVID-19 pandemic means that Educational Leaders have been called upon to lead through times of VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity)

The challenge for society in this disruptive era of rapid technological change. Despite the challenges and concerns, it's important to note the benefits of technology in education. The effective use of digital learning tools in classrooms can increase student engagement, help teachers improve their lesson plans, and facilitate personalized learning. It also helps students build essential 21st-century skills. Such changes require Educational Leaders with leadership and educational management capabilities, which will be essential for driving the education system at national and international levels.

The Office of Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education Thailand and Chiang Mai University are hosting an academic virtual conference titled “The 1st Thailand-Japan Educational Leaders Symposium: Technology for Education (TJ-ELS 2022)” on 22 December 2022 This conference will serve as a platform for school leaders, teachers, educators and participants from Thailand and Japan for academic exchange on Technology for Education in challenging times. The conference will call for abstracts for oral and poster presentations in research symposim.

General Instruction

- Abstracts should represent the original work.
- The Abstract should be written in English.
- Please indicate one – five most relevant themes for your abstract from the conference tracks.
- Please send in a brief biography together with the Abstract (An example is given in the abstract template).
- Please download the abstract template and follow the format carefully.
- The abstract should be submitted in the format of MS Word (.doc or .docx) document.

Abstract format guidelines

- An abstract is a compendious summary of a research paper’s substance including its background, purpose, methodology, results, and conclusion.
- It should be one paragraph with a word limit of 250.
- Keywords should be provided as a must (no more than 6 words).
- Keywords should be written in lowercase letters (Not applicable to names/scientific names) and should be separated with commas.
- Please do not include subheadings, bullets, lists and header/footer in the abstract.
- Abstract titles should be short, but descriptive. Informative titles, indicating key points are encouraged.
- FONT
- Title: Times New Roman, 12 points, Upper case, Centered text in bold
- Body: Times New Roman, 11 points; Line spacing: 1, one column of text
- AFFILIATIONS
- Affiliations should be indicated with superscript Arabic numbers appearing at the end of surname/family name.
- A superscript asterisk shout be used for the corresponding author
- Names of affiliations should be given including the country.
- If there is more than one name and address, they should be related by superscript numbers.

Steps to follow for your abstract submission

Once you prepared your abstract according to the above guidelines, Submit your abstract to tjels2022@gmail.com After submission you will be acknowledged of the receipt of the abstract via an email within three working days.

Deadline for the abstract submission

Please submit your abstract before: 18 November 2022

About the reviewing process

- Your abstract will undergo a double-blind peer review within two weeks after its receipt.
- Results of the abstract review will be sent to the author within two weeks of submission
- Acceptance or rejections of the paper will be sent to you with reviewer comments.
- If a revision is required, the revised abstract must be sent back within a week
- If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to present in The 1stThailand-Japan Educational Leaders Symposium: Technology for Education (TJ-ELS 2022)

Poster presentation format and guidelines

1. Poster presentation format and guidelines

- Presenter must use the Poster template provided here and upload your poster as JPGs file with a high resolution.

- Alternatively, Poster Presenter has an option to add a short audio file to accompany their poster presentation.

- Poster Presenter should prepare and display a visual representation of research (completed or in-progress), issue, or practice related to conference tracks.
- All Poster will be displayed on www.spatial.com platforms.

- The title fonts should be minimum 32 and body of minimum font size of 20.

- Poster should be self-explanatory with minimum text and maximum illustrations.

Use a typeface (design of type) that is particularly simple and clear.

2. Oral presentation format and guidelines

- Each presenter will be given a time slot of 30 minutes in total, which is distributed as 20 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of answering questions from the audiences.

- Make sure your PowerPoint presentation is in 16:9 ratio (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).

- Videos must be embedded in PowerPoint.

- Do not use links to YouTube or other webservices in your presentation.

Step 1: Register on the website by clicking on the registration button of Participants and submit your general’s information.

Step 2: After submission you will be acknowledged for the receipt of Participants and Zoom Meeting link and material via an email within 1 week before the date of TJ-ELS2022

2. Poster Presentation Submission Guidelines

Step 1 : Register on the website by clicking on the registration button of Poster Presentation and submit your general’s information.

Step 2 : After submission you will be acknowledged for the receipt of the Poster Presentation registration with abstract template and guidelines via an email within three working days.

Step 3 : You have to submit an abstract in the attached link and follow the instructions that you received in step 2 for the reviewing process

Step 4 : If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to present in The 1stThailand-Japan Educational Leaders Symposium: Technology for Education (TJ-ELS 2022)

Step 5 : You have to submit your Poster after your abstract is accepted

3. Oral presentation Submission Guidelines

Step 1 : Register on the website by clicking on the registration button of Oral Presentation and submit your general’s information.

Step 2 : After submission you will be acknowledged for the receipt of the Oral Presentation registration with abstract template and guidelines via an email within three working days.

Step 3 : You have to submit an abstract in the attached link and follow the instructions that you received in step 2 for the reviewing process

Step 4 : If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to present in The 1stThailand-Japan Educational Leaders Symposium: Technology for Education (TJ-ELS 2022)

Step 5 : All oral presenters are advised to upload any slides/PowerPoint Presentations before the conference

*Noted Presenters and Participants at the event is free of charge.

All Presenters and Participants will receive E-certificate from TJ-ELS 2022.
