A simple idea with a simple execution. I had the slogan "Grain should be a choice, not a fact of life" rolling around in my head after using Adobe's new AI denoise feature in Lightroom Classic, which led to the idea of creating a mock ad for it, showcasing the power of the feature through a mock rolling UI.
A client asked for a physical business card design that conveyed professionalism, while still being cute and eye-catching given that they work with pets. After crafting a color scheme with their favorite color that stayed subtle while allowing that specific color to pop, I designed a logo emblem that with a spot UV layer would do the same. While designing, I had that sentence echoing in the back of my head, conveying professionalism, while still being cut and eye-catching. The front had to be legible, not too busy, however with the back, I wanted to bring to the card the messy nature of pets, so I created a spot UV layer of paw prints running all over the back of the card, not only creating interest visually, but in a tactile manner, as well.
Below you will find the digital mockup, and the finished print.
In 2005, I released my first album. Having very limited knowledge and tools at the time, I worked with what I had. Years later I had always hoped to revisit the album artwork and tweak it ever so slightly into what I had originally had in mind while creating it. On the fifteenth anniversary of its release, I decided to do that visual update and get the album pressed on vinyl.
The artwork itself is the negative of a drawing I did my senior year of high school.
These are the results.
When designing for my brand, In Relative Obscurity, I wanted something that caught the eye immediately, and nothing seems to catch my eye more than neon signs. This simulated neon was created in Adobe Illustrator.
After nailing down a design, I took what I'd created into Adobe Premiere Pro, creating a short audio/visual experience.
Below I've placed the iterations of my design in chronological order.
