100% asynchronous online course. No required synchronous class meeting.
Live weekly online office hours via Zoom - optional but highly recommended.
Read the D2L announcements
Read the announcements on the D2L course homepage and view the Course Information Module and Labyrinth eLab & Intuit QuickBooks Module, and weekly modules.
Announcements frequently include updated information that you'll need to be successful.
Be proactive
Use the D2L Course Calendar via D2L and eLab to locate due dates for coursework.
The most current due dates are located in the eLab course. It is the student's responsibility to keep track of the changes in due dates when they occur.
Read the Module Overview for each new week for the learning activities and assignments so you can plan your time. Block out specific time slots a few days each week to work on the coursework. Example: one hour for each block of time.
Complete all learning activities
This includes reading the materials, viewing videos, participating in annotations, completing QuickBooks work and then submitting Excel (downloaded from QuickBooks) to eLab, completing eLab tests, and submitting D2L Social Annotations.
Seek help
Reach out for help when you need it, through your instructor, our Q & A discussion, or the tutoring center.
Aim for thoughtful sharing
Aspire to share well-developed thoughts and ideas in the D2L Social Annotations or Discussions.
Plan to complete QuickBooks work early
The time it will take each person to complete the weekly QuickBooks entries varies.
In general, students tend to find it easier to learn a new accounting software when they are not rushed by a looming deadline.
Set a goal to complete your work a day early, and you'll be relieved to have a little extra time when challenges arise.
Communicate with me
Ask questions!
I love hearing from you.
I realize the first couple of weeks may feel overwhelming.
