Hi! My name is Amy Stamp and I am the GLO teacher her at Lakewood Elementary School. GLO stands for Gifted Learning Opportunities. I am starting my 22nd year in education, and I love it! I have been a sign language interpreter in grades 4-8, I have taught first and second grades, and this is my 6th year as the GLO teacher at LES.
I have been married to my husband Jason for almost 24 years, and we have three beautiful children; Banks, my oldest, is 22 and just graduated from UAB. He will head off to London in September where he will study International City Planning for an entire year. Brody, my 17 year old, is a senior at Central High School (Go Red Devils) and he plays baseball on the varsity baseball team. My youngest is Jolie Kate, and she will be 15 in October. She is a freshman at Central High school, and she is on the competition dance team at Company C Academy of Dance.
Outside of spending time with my family, I enjoy traveling and tending to my mini farm. We currently have 3 cats, 5 dogs, 1 cow, 1 pig, 2 mini horses, 10 goats, and our classroom hamster, General Hammy.
