Grow Your Own

PBTISD will offer the Grow Your Own program for all employees desiring to increase expertise in their current field by furthering their education. Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD is excited to provide financial assistance to our employees wanting to further their education by receiving a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, an additional certification, Alternative Certification Program completion, etc.  The PBTISD Grow Your Own Program (GYO) is a perfect opportunity for educational assistants to become classroom teachers and classroom teachers to become administrators.

The GYO program requires that the applicant be a current employee of PBTISD who is seeking additional education in an area that will benefit the district by having employees with additional certifications or degrees.

Employees who participate in the program and complete a degree will be required to remain as an employee with PBTISD for THREE (3) years following completion of their degree or certification program. If a recipient leaves the district within the three years of receiving their degree or certification, the employee will be required to reimburse the district 100% of the district funds that the employee received during their Grow Your Own (GYO) program.
