本課程讓學生探索旅遊與款待這一性質複雜又涉及多個學科的行業,加強 他們對本科與其他學科,如工商管理、地理、歷史和資訊科技科的特殊關 係的理解。
旅遊與款待教育著重擴闊學生對整個行業的知識及了解,包括發展趨勢及 議題,所教授的基本概念、知識和所提供的實際經驗,有助學生了解本行 業的實際運作。
本科的課程架構分為必修和選修部分,均會探討旅遊及款待業內不同界別 的情況。每部分包括了各界別所需的知識、概念、態度和基本的共通能力。 選修部分旨在配合學生的能力及興趣,加強他們對所選取課題的認識。
必修部分包括:
課題(一) 旅遊導論及會議、獎勵、商務、展覽業務(MICE)
課題(二) 款待導論
課題(三) 地理名勝及主題公園及景點
課題(四) 客務關係及服務
課題(五) 旅遊與款待業趨勢及議題
本科的建議總課時約為 250 小時,必修部分約佔 220 小時,約 佔 30 小時採用以課業為本的學習模式,學生須對所選的課題作深入的研究。建議用 20 小時作安排學生進行旅遊及款待業相關的實地考察 活動,讓學生參與課堂內/外的學習。
This course allows students to explore the complex and multidisciplinary tourism and hospitality industry, enhancing their understanding of the unique relationships between their professional tourism and hospitality studies and other disciplines such as business administration, geography, history, and information technology.
Tourism and hospitality education focuses on broadening students' knowledge and understanding of the entire industry, including trends and issues. The fundamental concepts, knowledge, and practical experience taught help students understand the actual operation of this industry for developing the fundamental concepts or career plan towards the industry.
The curriculum is structured into compulsory and elective components, both of which explore different sectors within the tourism and hospitality industry. Each component includes the knowledge, concepts, attitudes, and basic common skills required for each sector. The elective components are designed to complement students' abilities and interests, enhancing their understanding of the topics.
The compulsory components are included as follows:

Trends and Issues in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry
The suggested total course hours for this undergraduate program are approximately 250 hours, with the compulsory components comprising approximately 220 hours. Approximately 30 hours will be allocated to a coursework-based learning model, requiring students to conduct in-depth research on their chosen topics. It is recommended that 20 hours be allocated for field trips related to the tourism and hospitality industry, allowing students to participate in learning both inside and outside the classroom.
