PBL's horticulture classes operate a 30’x60’ greenhouse to introduce students to the production and care of as many greenhouse plants as is possible. Some of the plants include chrysanthemums, poinsettias, forcing of bulbs, shamrock plants, Easter lilies, and spring bedding plants. Students learn numerous methods of plant propagation and carry out those activities in the greenhouse. Students also learn various principles of plant science and horticulture plant identification through activities conducted in the greenhouse. The plants are sold to the public to support the cost of operation.
