The EASTCONN ACCESS (Advancing Consultation & Coaching to Empower Student Success) Team is proud to share our updated online webinar series! The mission of the training series is to increase the accessibility of research-based skills and content related to education, behavior support, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Each training series contains the following:
Content that is relevant and beneficial to any educator (teachers, paraeducators, administrators, related service providers, etc.)
Content that is chunked into mini-sessions (approximately 5-20 minutes each), allowing flexibility for busy educators and allowing for time to process information in a palatable way
Flexibility to complete all mini-sessions at once or across multiple days
A pre- and post-assessment to assess your prior knowledge related to the topic and track your growth after participating in the training session
Guided notes aligned with session content
Note: Participating in these trainings is necessary but not sufficient for implementing academic and behavioral supports for complex learners; participants may also require in-person coaching, support, and practice to implement the strategies included in these webinars.
Description: This series will walk through catching, tracking, and changing student behaviors:
Catch It: Prioritizing behaviors of concern for data collection and clearly defining behaviors before collecting data
Track It: Data collection methods including frequency, duration, and ABC data collection will be covered with opportunities for practice using data collection tools
Change It: An introduction to connecting student data to intervention
Note: This series also includes a suggested sequence for paraeducators focused on sessions that are most relevant to their role in data collection.
Learning Goals: Participants will be able to (a) define behaviors in observable & measurable terms, (b) define frequency, duration, and ABC data collection, and (c) practice using data collection tools with sample videos.
Approximate Duration: The series is made up of 7 sessions (5 in the suggested sequence for paraeducators), and each session is 10-35 minutes long (total duration: 3-4 hours or longer depending on if participants are completing the full series or suggested paraeducator sequence)
