"... a mother... has built something more magnificent than any cathedral... the tiny perfection of her baby's body... Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature; God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation..."
Cardinal Jรณzsef Mindszenty
Pregnancy, birth, lactation, and postpartum are such tender moments in a family's life. My goal as a doula is to support mom, baby, and the whole family, in such a way that frees you up to be able to rest in and experience the peace and joy of these stages of life.
As I serve a family, my hope is that they feel like they are being supported by a best friend or sister that happens to know A LOT about birth and everything before, after, and in between. These stages of life used to be shared among an entire community, and unfortunately many of us don't have that kind of community support that was once the norm. While I am only one person, my goal is to provide you with a little dose of community love and support, even if it is just for this brief time in your life.
I believe it is part of my job as a doula to learn about you and your family's unique needs, and to fill the gaps so that you can have a smooth family transition. I have made some service packages based on common practices and popular demand, but if you have a unique need or desire, please feel free to schedule a consultation so we can work collaboratively to create the right package for your family's needs.
I pray for the day when high-level maternal-infant care is accessible to all families, but until that day, I have a few scholarships available to help make my services more accessible to a larger array of families. Most of my clients make use of payment plans, so please do not feel like you need to be able to pay a large lump sum in order to work with me. When in doubt - send me an email or contact form inquiry!
Please review my packages and services - never hesitate to reach out to me with questions - and I so look forward to speaking with you and potentially serving you and your family!

I believe everyone should have access to S.A.F.E. birth, and yet I recognize that not everyone is able to afford services.
Package rates are based on the value provided by doulas everywhere, because this work is both hard and important. Package rates also take into consideration operating costs of Pax & Gaudium LLC, and the financial needs of my family, namely, the cost of me being away from them to serve other families in these tender moments, while still allowing me to provide for my family monetarily.
That said, I deeply believe that every family deserves to have this level of support and care, because at one time, this was not something anybody had to pay for, but instead was provided by the community out of respect and responsibility to each growing family and the future of that community. I would gladly do this work for free if my family could be provided for without requiring payment, but that is unfortunately not the current state of the world.
In an effort to support this community-based, traditional approach to birth and family support, I offer a sliding scale system in hopes to allow as many families as possible to be able to receive the support and care that I believe they are owed, while still being able to sustain my own family's basic needs.
Please see my sliding scale guide below to determine where you fall along the sliding scale. During one of our consultations you can simply state what level of financial need you fall under as a way of letting me know, and I will adjust my fees as needed in alignment with that. I do not publish the reduced fees on my website because I tailor them to each family's personal situation (estimated due date, current week of gestation, what services they are interested in, etc.).
Given the intimate nature of both finances and birth, I uphold a trust-based culture. This means that I will trust you when you share your financial need level as outlined below. Please know that your honesty helps to ensure that I can serve as many people as possible without experiencing financial hardships myself. If you have questions about where you fall along this sliding scale, please do not hesitate to initiate a conversation with me about it.
