emma

**Flexible Ongoing Need**

1.5 years old / F / Black Mouth Cur/ American Pitbull Terrier Mix

Emma has been with PawsCo since November 2023, and came to PawsCo as part of the large group of dogs we pulled from NC. Unfortunately, we quickly learned that Emma is not good with other animals in the home, and as a result, she has been bounced around several times until finding her current foster home, who is very dedicated to helping her on her journey.

Emma is cleared and up for adoption, and often featured on social media, as well as one time on the news! We are also marketing her as foster-to-adopt, but we have yet to find Emma her perfect home. If you would be interested in fostering Emma temporarily (for whatever time periods work for you), please let us know! We are looking for multiple fosters to help "co-foster" Emma so we can give her primary foster a break. She is currently in a home with other dogs/cats, but has to be separated or very carefully monitored

If you have a pet free home, and would like to foster Emma for a weekend, a week, a month, or any other variation of time, please reach out to foster@pawscoadoptions.org!

chris

**Temp Coverage Needed 6/12 to 6/16**

2 years old / M

Really sweet boy! He is indifferent to cats, and not tested with dogs. He has been very good about the litter box.

Shelter Bio: This laidback boy found his way into a trap again last Friday night (4/19). EPAWA had him about a year ago and released him. A volunteer has been feeding him at a feeding station for over a year. But they're not putting him back out there this time! EPAWA did Chris's vaccines and Fiv tested him; of course he was already neutered. He loves to be petted! He is in a foster home with other cats and dogs, but tends to prefer being alone. He is not afraid of them. He just walks by them and goes into the basement. He would be between one and two years old.

tina, gene & louise

**Temp Coverage Needed 6/14 to 6/16**

12 weeks old / M & F

These three have intake on the 15th at 12:30 pm. They have been great for their foster family and also for the temp fosters that have had them. They have been good with their foster's dogs; sometimes gotten a tiny bit spicy but nothing of concern.

vito

**Temp Coverage Needed 6/22 to 6/25**

4 months old / M / Anatolian Shepherd Mix

He is fine around other dogs but he does need to be with one that will be patient with his puppy energy and will want to play. He is crate trained so he sleeps in the crate all night just fine. He is VERY chill, if everyone is just hanging out he is happy to just lay down and hang out. He is potty trained but will probably need guidance the first couple of times. He is a very quick eater so keeping an eye on when he's done because he does try to go for other dogs' food.

tripper

**COVERED!**

**Temp Coverage Needed 6/1 to 6/7**

1 year old / M

Tripper has intake on 6/1, which his foster can take him to and then can take him to a temp foster later that day. His foster will return on 6/7 and can pick him up in the late afternoon/evening. Tripper hasn't had intros with cats/dogs yet so unsure how he would do, but will have more info on that as time goes on. He's chill, easy going and a big boy! Likes to be brushed, uses litterbox well, does well with his foster's older kids.

harper

**COVERED!**

**Temp Coverage Needed 6/3 (evening) to 6/6 (afternoon)**

1 year old / F / Mixed Breed

Harper is a moderate to high energy 1-year-old who is eager to please and food motivated. She loves dogs and people, but has not met any cats. Given her energy level, her foster thinks she'd be better with older kids. She'd do best with 2 walks and playtime to keep her energy in check. She's used to being crated during the day while her foster works from home. Harper is allowed to sleep in bed with her foster, but she can also sleep in the crate.

Momma: 4 years old / F

Nursing mother and her 3 kittens. Kittens are about 2 weeks old now (born 5/10). Mom is friendly, litter box trained, and crate trained. All seem healthy. And CUTE!!!

sailor

**COVERED!**

**Temp Coverage Needed 6/7 to 6/19**

2.5 years old / M

Sailor gets over stimulated so his foster is not sure they would trust him with kids right now.

Shelter Bio: Sailor is a confusing guy. The shelter has had him for several months in a wonderful foster home. 90% of the time, he is the most lovable cat you can imagine -- then he might just attack. He is doing better with Feliway and a calming collar, and he did better when he was on Gabapentin. The foster has not introduced Sailor to her cats. He is approaching two years old. He is fully vetted. He was found on Main Street in Burlington last winter, believed to be abandoned by a family that moved. The shelter would love to see Sailor get a home of his own, especially as he has been in a room by himself for months!

Update 2/28/24: Sailor is doing really well! He’s calmer and he hasn’t been aggressive since mid-December; we are very hopeful for him. He’s a good boy who just needs a stable environment and not too much stimulation; he’s very low maintenance. When the rescue mentions "aggressive" they are referencing how every once in awhile when he first arrived, he would like to jump out and attack his foster's feet or legs. It did not happen very often (she said maybe 10% of the time) and has completely dropped off since December.

He’s ok with kids as long as he doesn’t get too much stimulation. People just need to know he needs a quiet environment as his “go to” reaction is to bite when stressed. His foster hasn't tried Sailor with other animals yet, but they are thinking of introducing him to their resident cat.

6 kittens

**COVERED!**

**Temp Coverage Needed 6/18 to 6/26**

6-7 weeks old / M & F

These kittens are newer to their foster, so more info to come! They were strays from HSFC but are reported to be very friendly!
