Sick leave days may be requested from the bank only for the unforeseen illness, injury, or accident of the employee, but not an empyee's family member. Sick Leave Bank leave days may not be granted for elective surgery or during any period an individual is receiving disability benefits from social security, a retirement plan, long term disability, or during any period of time
an individual is drawing or is eligible to receive workers' compensation benefits.
Between September I and September 30, each unit member who elects to join shall sign a written waiver of two (2) days of his/her prior sick leave accumulation and forward to the central office. Unit members hired after September l5th shall have thirty (30) calendar days to elect to join the Sick Leave Bank.
If you are already a member of the sick bank, then you do not need to submit a form during the enrollment period.
When the bank falls below 60 days, members of the sick bank will need to donate additional days to maintain their membership. If you are not a member, then you may choose to join at that time.
