Greg is a 2nd generation Chinese American from his mom’s side and a 4th generation Japanese American from his dad’s side. He is a UC Berkeley and Caltech alumni and has lived in Palo Alto since '04. His son attends Paly and his daughter attends Greene, where he coaches the robotics team!
Known as a driven executive, Greg has been able to build from scratch and turn around businesses with limited resources. Over his career, he has managed hundreds of people in various markets with experience in multiple geographies like Europe and Asia. On top of running two companies, Percolata and PIKA Group, Greg has been involved in city government for about 11 years, acting as City Council Finance Chair, Planning Commission Chair, among other positions. Now, he is serving his second term as a city council-member and is planning to run for Congress in 2022.
His “superpower” is the ability to listen, understand, and empathize with those he works with, ranging from stakeholders to Palo Alto constituents. He is a firm believer in applying technology, collaboration, and resident participation to solve any issues or challenges.
