Group Classes

Math is Awesome! (PK - K)

Summer 2024 not yet scheduled - if you're interested let me know and we'll find a mutually agreeable time!

$30 per student per session

Young children  LOVE learning to count, working with shapes, sorting, graphing, and more - because math is FUN! In this small group preschool and kindergarten students will explore math concepts and parents will learn how easy it is to incorporate math into every day life.  This is a small group, multi week course, and students will leave with hands on activities they can continue to use at home.

Math is Awesome K - 1st grade

Summer sessions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings  10 - 11 am

May 28th through August 8 2024

$30 per student per class

I LOVE first grade math! This is when students take early math concepts and begin learning to apply them. Addition, subtraction, telling time, counting coins, graphing and interpreting data, measuring with non-standard units, understanding numbers to 100, sequencing,  fractions, 3D shapes and more.  In this small group, multi week course we'll explore lots of skills through hands on activities and group games, including addition and subtraction strategies!  Attend both sessions in a week to receive an electronic copy of an at home follow up activity to keep the learning going!

Math is awesome (2 - 3rd grade)

Summer sessions on Monday and Wednesday from 12:00 - 1:00 pm

June 10 - August 7

$30 per student per class

In second & third grade students take the concepts they learned earlier and expand them. They add and subtract 2 and 3 digit numbers with regrouping, tell time to the nearest 5 minutes and then to the minute, measure with inches and centimeters, begin multiplication and division, and generally dive deeper into each skill. I love to incorporate hands on activities that make it fun to explore math concepts and to understand WHY and HOW we use each one. This small group course is aimed at students who understand basic math skills and are ready to take them further.  Attend both sessions in a week to receive an electronic copy of an at home follow up activity to keep the learning going!

Addition & Subtraction Strategies

In this small group class I teach students how to THINK about addition and subtraction so they can solve each problem efficiently and develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between adding and subtracting. Counting on your fingers is a good first strategy, but it's not the most effective. Join me to learn 19 strategies and when to use them. The video at left shows you how I explain the "counting on to subtract" strategy.  Subscribe to my YouTube channel to see more early learning ideas and activities!

Handwriting & Letter Formation

I've noticed that a lot of children missed out on handwriting instruction during virtual schooling. They may hold their pencil incorrectly, form letters from the bottom to the top, or write illegibly. If this sounds familiar, handwriting instruction might be just what they need! This is a small group, multi week course.

...and more!

More classes will be added soon - if there's something you'd like to see please let me know!
