Benjamin's TSA experience, as a result of great advisors and mentors, is the reason he is an engineer today. Starting in 6th grade, his TSA advisors poured countless hours into him, before and after school, allowing him to develop a passion for STEM. This passion continued into college, where he pursued a degree in engineering, worked full time as an engineer, and returned to school to finish a masters in the field. Benjamin is happy to help any TSA students that have questions regarding their career / school.
Charlize competed in TSA for 6 years at the regional, state, and national levels. She grew her public speaking, graphic design, teamwork, and leadership skills throughout her involvement in TSA. She served as her chapter’s president, a region 8 officer, the 2022-2023 PA-TSA State Reporter, 2023-2024 PA-TSA State President, and was a recipient of the Laura Hummel Outstanding Technology Student Scholarship. She currently studies Biology, Chemistry, and Deaf Studies the University of Pennsylvania and works as an undergraduate research assistant at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia focusing on Pediatric Cancer Survivorship. She is happy to answer any questions about TSA, Penn, or anything else related to her STEM journey!
Joshua is a Software Engineer from Boyertown, PA who served as PA-TSA Sergeant at Arms in 2019. After TSA, he studied Computer Science at the Pennsylvania State University. He said he owes a lot to his connections and experience from TSA. While competing in events like Software Development and Video Game Design, he learned the fundamentals that he still uses in his job today (and of course some late nights before the conference taught him to work under pressure). He has worked with the Nittany AI Alliance while at Penn State, then at Lockheed Martin and currently at Appian. He's happy to discuss any questions about post-TSA education or careers.
Krish served as the 2023–2024 PA-TSA Sergeant-At-Arms, where TSA gave him early exposure to engineering and helped him begin exploring what he wanted to pursue in the future. He currently attends the Georgia Institute of Technology, majoring in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Computer Science and Intelligence, and currently holds a co-op/internship at GE Vernova. Krish enjoys the hands-on design aspects of his major and values the wide range of career opportunities mechanical engineering provides. After applying to 19 engineering programs across the U.S., he learned that rejection is a normal part of the college process and encourages students to put effort into their applications, have a plan for their future, and remember that one school does not define their abilities or potential.
Meysoon served as a PA-TSA state officer in high school and loved the community of PA-TSA. Many of her favorite memories from high school were with her fellow officers and friends at the conferences. Since then she has graduated from Penn State University Schreyer Honors College studying Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences, and Immunology and Infectious disease with a minor in equine science. During her time at Penn State, she discovered her passion for research, helping develop animal diagnostic assays. She has also conducted research investigating signaling pathways in Respiratory Syncytial Virus as well as inflammatory pathways in the gut. She now studies evolutionary biology investigating molecular mechanisms of speciation in the Lai Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering as a PhD student.
Julie Wright is a Master of Public Health student at Lehigh University. She specializes in studying food justice, sustainable development, and social connection. She has worked with a variety of organizations such as the Office of Governor Josh Shapiro and the Rodale Institute on issues within health and environmental policy. She was also the President of the Pennsylvania College Democrats in the 2024-2025 academic year. Julie was a two-term PA-TSA state officer, serving as Vice President and Sergeant-At-Arms in the 2021-2022 and 2020-2021 terms respectively. She also received the Outstanding Technology Student Scholarship in 2022. She competed with PA-TSA for 7 years, and is incredibly grateful to the organization for helping her developing her passions for social impact and leadership.
Margo currently attends Northeastern University and is studying design and business administration. Through her years in TSA, she served as State Historian (2023), State Vice President (2024), and National TSA Reporter (2025). Her experiences and relationships she built through TSA have benefitted her life journey in so many ways. The hours of work she put into competitive events (like Board Game Design, Biotechnology Design, Audio Podcasting) enhanced her technical skillset and helped influence her decision to study design. Her TSA projects helped her build examples for her first design portfolio, which was crucial for applying to university and the workforce. Becoming a TSA leader (no matter the level) enhanced her public speaking, organization, and communication. Her TSA experience undoubtedly shaped her in her education, future career, and personal life.
Michelle Zheng is a junior at Stanford University studying Mechanical Engineering. She currently conducts climate research utilizing high-altitude balloon payloads and recently concluded her term as Co-President of Stanford's largest engineering club—the Stanford Student Space Initiative (SSI). She has previously worked at 3D printing and medical device companies and will be interning at Blue Origin this upcoming summer.
Within PA-TSA, she most notably served as the 2022-2023 State President and credits her foundational leadership and critical thinking skills to her experiences in TSA. As a first-generation college student, she is happy to chat about the college admissions process, life in college, and more - feel free to reach out!
