Collection Drives
Collection drives play an important role in keeping our programs effective and serving well. We do not directly distribute items to the public so everything you collect is benefiting someone we are in relationship with. We rely on the generous donations from our community to provide the many items we need to make the work we do possible. Shop our Amazon list and see our most urgent current needs here.
No need to apply to volunteer!
Education
Volunteers who work with us in an education role are usually knowledgeable about subjects related to mental health. We believe that mental health is multifaceted and subscribe to the 8 dimensions of wellness as a foundation of creating a healthier life no matter where you may fit on the Mental Health Continuum. We have a generous classroom to host education courses or we can come to your location
E3 Encourage • Empower • Educate - This 8-session course is taught by trained volunteers that have personal experience caring for someone with mental illness and is conducted in an atmosphere of confidentiality. Each session will focus on a different mental health diagnosis and will include information about treatment options, techniques for handling real-life situations, and strategies to help caregivers manage their responses to the illness. These classes offer support to anyone caring for a friend or family member with mental illness. Volunteers for this course will be required to complete the course as a participant, then complete a training and co-facilitate prior to leading as a facilitator.
Wellness Workshops - We are happy to host a variety of workshops (one to two hours long) based on the 8 dimensions of wellness and open internally and to the general public for participation. Volunteers who present these workshops provide an overview of their presentation topic, their credentials and verify that they are not selling products during the presentation.
