Student Loaner Chromebooks are managed by PCS. To reset a chromebook for troubleshooting purposes, hold the alt-ctrl-shift-r keys and complete a Powerwash. After that, re-connect to WiFi, and sign in to update.
WiFi Hotspots have a 2 GB/month limit, and once families exceed that, internet will be very slow until the cycle renews (around the 10th of each month). Wifi hotspot troubleshooting - the most effective method is to turn off and turn back on several times. WiFi hotspots include content filtering by Verizon.

5. Bitdefender — Simple free antivirus with low CPU load.

Uninstall on MAC: Check to see if the program you have installed has a built-in uninstaller (open the application and check in preferences and/or tools menu bar), and/or google "uninstall ___ (avast, norton, etc)" for instructions. As a last resort, use Finder to search for the name of the antivirus, and send to trash.
Uninstall on PC: In the start menu, search for "Control Panel", and choose "Uninstall a Program", then search for the name of the antivirus program and click "Uninstall".
