Project Overview

The Bus Stop Enhancement Plan is a review of older bus stops located throughout the RTA service area to identify stops that are difficult for riders to access. 

In April 2026, a detailed on-site assessment of these older stops was conducted and recommendations were made to improve accessibility. 

Based upon these recommendations and community and stakeholder feedback, RTA will be identifying needs for each individual stop and prioritizing locations for improvements in future years.

Project Objective

The project will develop a phased implementation plan to enhance older bus stops throughout RTA’s service area. Improving these bus stops will help ensure safe, equitable access to public transportation.

Local jurisdictions will also play a key role in identifying which improvements are feasible, and in what order improvements can be completed in. Key stakeholder and community meetings will take place with city and county jurisdictions and the public for insight into future developments, expected growth and identification of barriers or gaps.
