(in terms of using databases as a tool for writing papers)
Always use as few terms as possible when you search a database
Keep track of the articles you use by citing them as you go
Use more than one database to optimize your search results
It's okay to use a small amount of information from an article to help you defend your paper's argument
You don't have to agree with the whole idea or stance of the article you choose
Quote the part of the article that you like or don't like the most to help you make a strong argument in your research papers
