Academic & Career Planning
Welcome to the Pardeeville Area School district Academic and Career Planning Website.
Academic and Career Planning, or ACP, is a student-driven, adult supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post-secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (http://dpi.wi.gov/acp) in the PI-26 legislation requires public school districts to provide academic and career planning services to students in Grades 6 through 12 beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. These new academic and career planning requirements connect school districts' education for employment plans and programs to the new academic and career planning requirements.
Academic and Career Planning as a Process:
Academic and Career Planning is a process. Components that support students in completing the process include: 1) participating in contact time to explore self; careers; personal planning and self-management; and education/training, 2) developing a close and consistent relationship with an adult and peers; 2) Setting goals and tracking goal progress through a ACP Plan and Portfolio, 3) participating in Student-Led Conferencing, and 4) Participating in Real-World Learning Experiences inside and outside of the school building.
