Flexible Instruction Day (FID) Guide for PAHS Students
*NOTE: Flexible Instruction Days (FIDs) will only be used after the first 2 built-in snow days of the school calendar have been used. On the 3rd SNOW DAY, we will start using FIDs as an option.
What are the expectations for PAHS students on a FID?
Flexible Instruction Days will be asynchronous. This means that you do not need to log in or attend any of your classes at a specific time on a Flexible Instruction Day. Your teachers will post work in Canvas for you to complete at your own pace. If you need assistance from one of your teachers, they will provide an email address that you can use to contact them throughout the day.
Students should access their classes in Canvas based on their RED/WHITE day schedule for the day. In other words, if a FID day falls on a RED day, students will complete work for classes they would normally have on a RED day.
In each Canvas class, teachers will publish and provide FID enrichment activities/assignments for students to complete.
Students will have 3 school days to get FID work completed and submitted.
That way, if a FID is used, but a student does not have power, internet, etc. for any reason at home during the FID, they have ample time to complete the activities for each of their teachers after the FID.
How will student attendance be recorded for PAHS students on a FID?
Student attendance for a FID will be based on their completion of FID Classwork assigned by their teachers.
Teachers will access a shared spreadsheet to mark when a student has completed work assigned on any given FID. Based on this spreadsheet, attendance will be marked as follows:
