Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR):
The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) is a state agency that provides services to individuals with disabilities, when the disability creates limitations to finding and/or maintaining employment. OVR provides services such as: diagnostics, vocational evaluation, vocational counseling and guidance, restoration, training, and placement. Services are eligibility based. The goal of OVR services is to help the individual maintain competitive level employment.
The Early Reach Initiative is an outreach service provided by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) for youth with disabilities as early as 14 years old and their parents/guardians who are beginning to think about and plan for the transition from school to the world of work and adult life. The purpose is to ensure youth with disabilities and their parents/guardians know about, understand, and are able to access OVR services.
