I was born and raised in a small PA Dutch farm town in the Lehigh Valley called Powder Valley. Growing up in a branch of the Appalachian Mountain range allowed me to pursue all of the things I loved to do in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. My passion for the outdoors only continues to grow ever since I moved to Potter County 20 years ago. Hunting and fishing still remain my biggest passion, but I also enjoy kayaking, hiking, biking the rails-to-trails with my wife Olivia, and basically anything I can find in the wilderness. Aside from the outdoors, I also have a huge passion for both health and fitness, as well as music. I started playing guitar when I was 12, and still play today. You can also often find me running the hills of Potter County with my dog Diesel.
I graduated from Emmaus High School in 2003 and then continued my education at Mansfield University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K-6.
After finishing college in 2008, I was fortunate enough to find employment at the Galeton Area School District almost immediately after graduating. I spent just over a decade there working on the craft of teaching. The experiences that the Galeton school gave me will forever be with me. During my time of employment at GASD, I taught many different grade levels and subjects including:
4th-8th Grade Reading
11th Grade PSSA/SAT Preparation
5th Grade (Full Curriculum)
3rd Grade (Full Curriculum)
4th Grade ELA
4th Grade Math
Gifted Support/Enrichment
I've had the chance to teach in more positions than most teachers will in their entire career, but all of the bouncing around has given me a lifetime of experience in 16 years of teaching.
This year is currently my 6th year at Port Elementary teaching 4th grade. I put a great amount of passion into my job and truly enjoy when students can have fun and learn at the same time.
