Hello there! I am excited to meet you all! Allow me to introduce myself!
I grew up in the Smethport area, where I attended both elementary and high school. I graduated high school in 2016 then I was off to Clarion University! I attended Clarion University for Early Childhood Education (Pre K - 4) and graduated with my Bachelors in May of 2021.
I am happy to be completing my fourth year here at Port Allegany as a 1st Grade teacher!
I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was young. I have always loved being able to teach something new to someone and to see the wonder and the "Ah-Ha" moment that comes with the understanding from learning new information. My mother is a teachers aide and has been through my early years. She is a big reason as well as to why I wanted to be a teacher. I became very familiar with the classroom and what wonders and learning could be had in one room. So I started to make it my dream to have my own classroom and to teach young minds.
Recently I became an aunt to my most wonderful nephew Benjamin. He continues to instill the joy of teaching outside of the classroom. His eagerness and desire to learn about why and how things occur and the joy he gets out of learning continue to remind me why I chose to go into this field.
Through my academics I kept an interest that isn't inside the classroom, transitioning into the musical field. I have been playing in band since the 4th grade and I continued my involvement in music all the way through college. It has allowed me to find an outlet that can be instilled in the classroom, as I am sure I can find a way to incorporate the eight instruments I know how to play!
Finally, when I am not in the classroom. I am either enjoying a book, fishing, hunting or working on my latest diamond painting!
