Graduation Practice Schedule

May 18th - Practice 1* - Gym 2

May 19th - Practice 2* - Gym 2

May 20th - Practice 3 - 6:30am - Gym 2

May 21st - Practice 4* -Gym 2

*Specific event times will be shared as each date approaches. All listed dates are full school days, with the regular school schedule from 7:15 AM to 2:35 PM. 

Graduaion FAQ's

When will I receive my cap & gown?

• Balfour will be on campus the week of April 27 for distribution.

What about other items (invitations, class rings, etc.)?

• These items have already been delivered.

• If your balance is paid, items are ready for pickup.

• Visit the AP Office for assistance.

Do I have to attend all graduation practices?

• Yes. Attendance is mandatory.

• Missing a graduation practice may result in not being allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.

What is the dress code for graduation?

All graduates must follow the district and venue dress code beneath their gown.

Ladies:

• Dress, skirt, or black slacks

• Dresses or skirts should not extend below the hem of the gown

• Black dress shoes with a back are required

  • No sandals or flip-flops

  • Bonus: There will be a lot of walking

• Oversized jewelry (such as large statement necklaces) may not be worn

Gentlemen:

• Must wear a collared shirt, tie, and black slacks

• Black dress shoes are required

  • No sandals, crocs, or flip-flops

• Facial hair must be neat and trimmed in accordance with district grooming policy

• No belts with large buckles or studs

• No wallets with chains, as they will not pass metal detectors

Failure to follow the dress code may prevent participation in the ceremony.

Where do my family and guests park at UH Fertitta?

There are twos designated graduation parking areas, the 

What if my family and/or guests do not have transportation to the Fertitta Center?
Pasadena ISD will provide bus transportation for parents to and from the graduation ceremony.

Is there a bag policy at the Fertitta Center?
Yes. The Fertitta Center enforces a strict clear bag policy.

Allowed Items:

• Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags not exceeding 12" x 6" x 12"

• Small clutch or purse no larger than 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a strap

• One-gallon clear, resealable plastic storage bags (Ziploc or similar)

• Medically necessary items and diaper bags (with child present) after inspection

Prohibited Items:

• Backpacks, fanny packs, and large purses

• Metal or glass containers, thermoses, and coolers

• Cameras with lenses larger than 8 inches, tripods, and drones

• Outside food or beverages

• Weapons, fireworks, and illegal drugs

All guests and belongings are subject to search through metal detectors in accordance with University of Houston Athletics guidelines.

Can my family and guests bring flowers, balloons, or signs?
No. The following items are not allowed inside the venue:

• Balloons

• Signs

• Flowers

• Air horns or noisemakers

• Chemical sprays such as mace or pepper spray
