INTERNATIONAL TOURISM & HOSPITALITY CONFERENCE 2024
ORADEA, 3-4TH October 2024
As one of the most dynamic economic sectors in the world, tourism has been undergoing a major transformation in recent years due to economic, social and environmental developments. Some destinations have retained their former role and gained popularity, while the number of visitors has led to over-tourism, transforming the social and natural environment. Others are struggling to catch up after losing their former position. But one thing all host regions have in common is the need to adapt to changing conditions.
However, the resilience and defences of a destination are not the same, and resilience will become increasingly important in the coming period as the scale of the impact of systems and the changes they undergo give rise to the need to examine resilience. The relationship between tourism and resilience is multifaceted, with tourism being the cause or trigger of resilience in the case of over-tourism, and the sufferer or solution to resilience in other cases.
The aim of our conference is to provide an opportunity for researchers and doctoral students working on the issue of resilience, whether at the territorial, sectoral or company level, to meet and present their new academic results.
