We are excited to continue the PTA Reflections program at Partin Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The theme for this year’s PTA Reflections program is “What My Culture Means to Me!” We can’t wait to see the creativity and talent of our Partin All-Stars!
For the 2026-27 school year, entry categories and collected entries include Visual Arts, Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, and Photography, in the Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), and Accessible Artist (all grades welcome)* categories.
Along with their submissions, students will submit an artist statement between 10-100 words explaining how their work relates to this year’s theme.
Submissions will be judged blind by an impartial panel of judges.
Awards will be presented for first, second, and third place in each category and celebrated on PNN.
First, second, and third-place submissions will go on to the county program.
All student participants will be presented with a certificate during an award ceremony in the Spring. Date and time TBD.
Families will print the entry form and category guidelines at home.
Submissions must be brought to the front office by October 9, 2026.
*Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Accessible Arts division or grade division most closely aligned to their support needs.
Ideas your All Star could explore:
🥘 A food my family loves — Draw a favorite meal or a food your family makes together.
🎉 A special family tradition — What does your family do every birthday, holiday, weekend, or special occasion?
🎶 Music that makes me think of home — A song, dance, or type of music your family enjoys.
👵 Something my grandparents or family taught me — A story, recipe, saying, game, craft, or tradition.
🗣️ Words that are special to my family — Maybe your family speaks another language, uses a special nickname, or has a funny saying.
🏡 What makes my family special — Draw or write about the people, pets, places, or activities that feel like home.
🎊 A celebration I love — Show how your family celebrates a holiday, birthday, festival, or other special day.
❤️ “This is us!” — Create something showing the little things that make your family unique.
Older All Stars can dig a little deeper into identity, heritage, traditions and belonging:
🌳 Where my family comes from — Explore your ancestry, hometown, country, region, or a place important to your family.
🧑🍳 A tradition passed down — A recipe, celebration, story, skill, song, object, or custom shared across generations.
🌎 Two cultures coming together — What if your family blends different cultures, backgrounds, traditions, or experiences?
🎵 The sounds of my culture — Explore music, instruments, dance, songs, or even the everyday sounds that remind you of family or home.
🍽️ More than just a meal — Tell the story behind a food that connects you to family, memories, or heritage.
👨👩👧👦 What my family has taught me — Explore values such as kindness, hard work, faith, generosity, perseverance, education, or helping others.
🏘️ My community is part of my culture — How has growing up where you live, your school, neighborhood, team, or community helped shape you?
🕰️ Then & now — Compare a tradition from an older generation with how your family celebrates or practices it today.
💭 What culture means to ME — Culture doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. What experiences and traditions have helped make you you?
