Using Zoom with Students
Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has made video conferencing available between teachers and students for learning purposes using the Zoom platform within our own parracatholic Zoom domain. This page contain resources in-alignment with new settings that will allow for the use of Zoom to support learning.

Waiting Room UI - Set to generic overview
Automatic Recording - Default is set to 'No' - Although the user can change (Previously Locked)
26/4/20 - New security features have been applied for the use of Zoom for CSPD Staff and Students.
Students will be required to sign-in to Zoom using the Single Sign On (SSO) method
When students sign-in via SSO they are considered an authenticated user
Only authenticated users are able to join Zoom meetings hosted by CEDP staff

Students are unable to host meetings - they can only join Zoom meetings as participants

The Waiting Room has been enabled and locked for all Zoom meetings
All Zoom meetings hosted by CEDP staff will require the host to admit participants to the Zoom meeting from the Waiting Room
Staff can admit students individually or admit all students at once
Staff have the ability to place students back in the waiting room should the need arise

Considerations for schools opting to record Zoom sessions with students
Communicate with parents that:
Learning sessions on Zoom may be recorded and made available for their class to allow students to review the session as a means to support learning
Recordings are stored on password protected sites and sharing is restricted to staff and students for learning purposes
Schools:
Identify the method for making Zoom recording available for students
Link sharing from Zoom account (requires users to be signed into their Zoom account and have a password)
Download the Zoom recording then add to the school's Google Drive <<AGEID>>Fileshare and ensure that viewers are unable to download the video - Guide

Using Zoom in Canvas
Canvas schools and courses can embed Zoom directly within the learning experience where the students schedule of conferences can be clearly seen, accessed and tracked by the course teacher.
