to fit your situation and to help students:
• Form opinions
• Justify their viewpoints

debating – and try it out!

How have protest songs inspired, informed and united movements and changed history? Which current artists are using words and music to make a stand for human rights and fight for change?
Designed for students aged 11-16, this pack of three Amnesty lesson plans supports students to learn how artists have used their words and music to make a stand for human rights and fight for change. Using their skills in language and literacy, group presentation and critical thought, students will strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the struggle for human rights, and then take creative action by developing their own protest song.
